Foliage is light green in spring and gold in autumn. This is the only true upright Acer palmatum dissectum with all other dissectums being cascading or weeping. Leaves are 7 lobed with a length of 4-5cm and a width of 6cm. The leaves are not quite as dissected as other dissectums. This is a useful plant if have a large garden and need a tall growing dissected cultivar. Seiryu originated in Japan and was first mentioned in 1882.
