This is a widely grown dissectum cultivar, due to its fast growth, durability and retaintion of its colour. Garnet is burgandy in spring and will hold its colour into Autumn, lightening slightly. The leaves are 7 lobed and on the bigger side for the dissectum group, measuring up to 12cm in length. Garnet was introduced by the Goldemond Brothers, Netherlands in 1959.
