Acer palmatum - Reticulatum
Overview
Synonymous with "Shigitatsu Sawa". During Spring the leaves of this cultivar are reticulated with yellow/green veins. The leaves (and veins) will darken during Summer before becoming a unique and pleasant orange/red during Autumn. The sharply toothed leaves have 7-9 lobes. To prevent leaf scorch, plant in a position that provides protection from the hottest sun. At maturity this upright cultivar reaches 4.5m or more and will spread to over 4m. This cultivar originated in Japan but was named in France by Edouard Francois Andre in 1870.
