Acer palmatum - Jiro Shidare
Overview
This cultivar is most spectacular in Autumn with its striking gold colouration. The "toothed" leaves have 7-9 lobes and reach a length of 6cm and a width of 4.5cm. Unlike most weepers, Jiro Shidare is uniquely, not part of the Dissectum group (ie. does not have dissected leaves). Will reach a height of 2m or more and cascade out to just as wide. Introduced by Shibamichi Honten Nursery, Japan, sometime before 1965.
